Ingersoll-Rand Introduces the PETSTAR™ Line of High Pressure Reciprocating Compressors

Ingersoll-Rand has introduced a new line of high pressure reciprocating compressors specifically designed for the PET blow molding industry. The compressors available include three stage models (PETSTAR-3) and four stage models (PETSTAR-4). The capacity range at 610 psig/42 bar-g is:

The attractive features of this line of compressors are:

  • Continuous duty, water cooled, double acting design.
  • 100% oil-free air required by the blow molding industry.
  • Complete package design for ease of installation and single point air, water, and electrical connections.
  • Four stages of compression on units with motors of 100 HP (75 KW) and above resulting in lower operating temperatures per stage and higher efficiencies.
  • Designed specifically for the capacities and pressures required by the blow molding industry, but can be applied in other high pressure air applications.
  • Concrete filled subbase on PETSTAR-3 units, meaning a separate foundation is not required.
  • Horizontally opposed cylinders on the PETSTAR-4 units, resulting in lower unbalanced forces and eliminating the need for massive foundations.
  • Optional in-line filters, refrigerated dryers, and receivers.
  • Supported by the worldwide Ingersoll-Rand sales, parts, and service teams.
